Our method

About: How We Compare

We write for the household deciding whether another monthly subscription earns its place, not for the platforms.

Household first

Every guide begins with how people actually watch: who is in the room, how many hours a week, what they enjoy and what they will tolerate. Only then do we look at the services.

Dated and region-aware

Streaming changes constantly. We date our checks, avoid quoting prices that will soon be wrong, and flag when a feature or title depends on the country.

Independent

We are not affiliated with any streaming platform. We do not accept payment for placement, and service names and trademarks belong to their owners.

Criteria 1

Catalogue fit

Depth in genres households care about, and stability of licensed titles.

Criteria 2

Useful features

Streams, profiles, downloads, accessibility and parental controls.

Criteria 3

Subscription trade-offs

Ads, tiers, bundles, billing flexibility and ease of cancelling.
